Description: Small prismatic light purple fluorapatite crystals on the sides, back and top of a gem blue green tourmaline crystal

Size: Specimen is 4.6 cm tall, 1.1 cm wide at top (specimen has been repaired)

Purple Fluorapatite Small Prismatic Crystals on Watermelon Tourmaline PA007

Description: This specimen was found in two pieces: The "cap" is a cross section of a tri-colored watermelon tourmaline (elbaite species) coated with a color zoned coating of light to medium purple small prismatic fluorapatite crystals. The cap was separated from the base at an apparent natural fracture as the two pieces join tightly with minimal damage. This specimen was back-lighted using a daylight lighting source.

Purple Fluorapatite Small Prismatic Crystals on Watermelon Tourmaline PA007base

Description: The base piece consists of the remainder of the tri-colored watermelon tourmaline crystal coated with light to medium purple small prismatic fluorapatite crystals and the exposed remnant of a green tourmaline. Both pieces are in good condition, with limited damage to some of the fluorapatite crystals.

Purple Fluorapatite on Pink and Gemmy Blue Green Tourmaline PA002

Description:Small prismatic light purple fluorapatite crystals sprinkled on the pink tourmaline dissolution stem of a bicolor tourmaline crystal. The top half is gemmy blue green tourmaline.

Size: Specimen is 4.1 cm tall, 4.0 cm wide at the top

Purple Fluorapatite Color Zoned Cluster of Medium to Dark Purple Fluorapatite Crystals PA003

Description: Color zoned cluster of medium to dark purple fluorapatite crystals. Some of the prismatic crystals exhibit twinning and a few crystals grade towards the Hebron style of crystal habit

Size: Specimen is 4.0 cm x 3.1 cm x 1.4 cm thick and was found as “pocket floater”.

Purple Fluorapatite Prismatic Crystals Exhibiting Twinning PA004

Description: Color zoned group of medium to dark purple prismatic fluorapatite crystals. Crystals are lustrous and exhibit twinning. Matrix is albite (variety cleavelandite), along with some associated mineral(s) to be identified.

Size: Largest crystal on the lower right of photo measures 1.25 cm long. The over-all specimen measures 4.0 cm x 1.8 cm x 1.6 cm thick.

Purple Fluorapatite Color Zoned Medium to Dark Purple Fluorapatite Crystals Occur in Two Cavities PA005

Description: Color zoned medium to dark purple fluorapatite crystals occur in two cavities with small quartz crystals. Some of the prismatic crystals exhibit twinning and a few grade towards the Hebron style of crystal habit. Largest crystal measures about 1cm long. The matrix is primarily microcline and pale smoky quartz, and is accented by a section of bicolor pink and blue green tourmaline.

Size: The over-all specimen measures about 11 cm x 9 cm x 5 cm.

Purple Fluorapatite Prismatic Crystals in Cavity PA006

Description: Color zoned medium to dark purple prismatic fluorapatite crystals occur a cavity with small quartz crystals. The matrix is primarily microcline and pale smoky quartz.

Size: Largest crystal measures about 1cm long and exhibits twinning. The over-all specimen measures about 10 cm x 7 cm x 6 cm.
